The Heartside community recognized two separate but related needs in the neighborhood. Too many people who are in need did not know all the resources currently available in the neighborhood and many people visiting the neighborhood did not know where to refer people in need. A solution was proposed by HNCP to create an electronic communication system that will be updated daily and will feature scrolling announcements of daily services. Monitors, which will run 24-hours a day will be installed throughout the Heartside and Downtown neighborhoods. Residents will see available resources and Visitors will be able to direct those in need to the H-DECS monitors to assist them in finding the help they are seeking.
